The beautiful beach of Herradura is less than a kilometer away. The shared swimming pool with bar/restaurant is about 100m from the front door as the crow flies (open April-December). Around the corner you find the nature park of Cerro Gordo, beyond that is the nature park of Sierra de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama.

La Herradura is a paradise for the active lover of beach and sea! It offers swimming, kayaking, snorkeling, diving (lessons), paddling, wind surfing (lessons), surfing, jet skiing, sailing, boat rentals and even paragliding. Of course you can also simply lie on the beach or enjoy one of the many terraces, bars and restaurants.
La Herradura is an ideal starting point for day trips. The area of La Herradura offers something for every taste. The regional mountains are great for hiking, for mountain biking or beautiful car trips. There are all kinds of fascinating sights relating to the thousands of years of history of the region. The Citadel of Granada with the famous Alhambra in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada is but an hour's drive away. People of all ages will appreciate the caves of Nerja or the Aquatropic water park jin the neighboring town of Almuñecar. For a day trip also consider the exciting Caminito del Rey (Kings path) or the authentic Alpujarras. Lovers of wine can also regale themselves in this wine region.
The temperature in La Herradura is pleasant all year round, also in the winter! Many people escape their cold weather and stay here for the winter, in the apartments and on the campings. And it doesn't really get too hot hear in the summer either: highest temperatures in the summer average at about 30 degrees. Because the sea is so close it can sometimes even be moist during the warm days.
